A few photos of the reception on June 8.
 Henry Reggans, friend of the gallery,came and provided  background music on the keyboard.   The food was one of the best with homemade sausage, giant meat balls in sauce, double espresso brownies, cheeses, fruits ,and much more.
The art work covered  many medias  with photography, paintings, glass, and sculptures.

Competition Exhibit
This year’s Competition includes an additional Merit Award, provided by the family of Dr. Billie McRae in her honor as a lover and supporter of the arts. This brings the total award purse to $1600.00 for awards for 2013. A complete listing of awards is provided on the Call to Artists, along with an event calendar.

The juror for the 2013 Competition Exhibit is Alyssa Fridgen, the Curator of the Alexandria Museum of Art in Alexandria, Louisiana.

Alyssa Fridgen :  2013  Competition Juror 

   The juror for the 2013 Competition Exhibit is Alyssa Fridgen, the Curator of the Alexandria Museum of Art in Alexandria, Louisiana.
     Ms. Fridgen is responsible for researching and developing new exhibitions for the Museum, conducting scholarly research on the permanent collection, and overseeing the care, presentation, and interpretation AMoA’s permanent collection.
      Prior to Alexandria Museum of Art, Alyssa lived and worked in New York City, where she had been curating art exhibitions for over seven years. Alyssa has curated exhibitions of international artists for Art for Change, Moti Hasson Gallery, and other major organizations. She also coordinated an annual public arts festival for Art for Change, consulted Artnet on development of a new art market index, and led the SIGHT unSEEN tour for SoHo20 Chelsea.
     As Archivist and Auction Liaison at Spanierman Gallery, Alyssa coordinated major 19th-21st century American Art exhibitions, researched art for catalogue raisonnés, bid on art at Sotheby’s and Christie’s auctions, and catalogued Winslow Homer drawings at the Cooper-Hewitt National Design Museum.
     She has presented guest lectures and workshops on art and public policy at Yale University and New York University. Alyssa studied art history at Columbia University, received her Certificate in Fine Art Appraisal Studies at New York University, and graduated summa cum laude with a B.S. in Marketing and International Business from Arizona State University. 
     GALLERY ONE EIIIEVEN is pleased to have Ms. Fridgen as Juror this year, and she will conduct a short gallery talk at the opening reception for the exhibit on Saturday, September 14 at 6:00.
