GALLERY ONE EIIIEVEN
Exhibiting Membership Privileges, Rules, and Responsibilities
MISSION STATEMENT
GALLERY ONE EIIIEVEN will provide support to visual artists and
a space to enrich the community through exposure to the diversity
of contemporary and traditional art.
EXHIBITOR MEMBERSHIP
Membership is for one year intervals and is open to those who work
in the creative visual arts.
MEDIA
Anyone that works in traditional and contemporary media is welcome
to apply for membership. Not acceptable are mass produced work
(the exception being traditional limited edition original
printmaking), and craft items such as mold-poured pottery, etc.
Creative workers in the "Crafts" field will be considered for
membership if they are current members of the Louisiana Crafts
Guild. LCG members selected for GALLERY ONE EIIIEVEN membership
receive a $25 discount on membership dues. Louisiana Crafts Guild
information is available through the Gallery.
CONTENT AND SCALE
All members are to be sensitive to the community and to the goals
of the gallery when considering the content and scale of their work.
If content is deemed objectionable by the Artist's Board or the scale
of the work is not practical for display, discussions with the exhibitor
will be held and decisions made by the Board. All decisions of the
board are final.
EXHIBITING
All two dimensional work must be framed, unless the omission of a frame
is an integral to part the work. All work must have adequate hanging
wire attached. No sawtooth hangers are allowed - our hanging system
will not work with sawtooth hangers. Exhibitors should review the
hanging system prior to wiring their work.
On the back of all work, the following information must be
provided: Your name, media, size, date completed, title, your
contact information and price.
All submissions for group shows will be hung by the Artist's Board
Committee, and work may be rejected due to space and other considerations,
at the decision of the Board. Missing deadlines for delivery of pieces
for exhibits will result in dismissal from the show, unless other
arrangements were made in advance.
At all exhibitions other than Group Shows and Special outside exhibitions,
Artist Board members will be on hand to assist the hanging and lighting.
NO ONE IS TO ADJUST GALLERY LIGHTING WITHOUT AN ARTIST BOARD MEMBER
PRESENT TO ASSIST. ANY DAMAGE TO GALLERY LIGHTING, HANGING DEVICES
OR OTHER GALLERY ASSETS WILL BE PAID FOR BY THE EXHIBITOR.
Once a work is shown in the gallery, it cannot be shown again in the
gallery for 1 year.
The Gallery will market and advertise, through their media contacts,
all exhibits. Additional marketing for exhibits may be provided and
paid by the exhibitor(s), but coordination should be through the
Artist's Board for continuity.
All board decisions are final in respect to all issues that may arise.
