Brandon Backe, pitcher for the Houston Astros, grew up with Pat and they were best friends to the end. He has donated some items to help generate interest in the auction.

Brandon donated one of his signed jerseys, two signed baseballs and four tickets to an upcoming Astros game. These prizes will be given away after the silent auction on Sat. Each qualifying bid ($75 minimum) is put into a bowl and names will be drawn by Rick Barnickel.

Pat's uncle Roddy is going to be on KVVP Radio in Leesville, Louisiana to talk about Pat, his family and the ties they still have in the area.

The Pat Dye Benefit is a great event for an even greater cause.

Leesville's 'Gallery One Ellleven' will host a very special art exhibition and auction to benefit the Pat Dye medical fund. The auction takes place on Saturday, March 8th, 7pm at Gallery One Ellleven, located at 111 3rd Street in historic downtown Leesville.

There are numerous works by regional artists up for bid. Proceeds go to assist the family of Patrick Dye, who recently lost his battle with cancer. These works of art - and many others from the Leesville Junior High Art Student show - will be on display at the gallery beginning February 27th through the benefit auction on the 8th of March.
